Vocab Breakdown
全速力(ぜんそくりょく):full speed
盗塁(とうるい): stealing bases (a baseball term)
試みる(こころみる):to attempt something, to try
余裕(よゆう): in a general sense, it means “an excess” or “abundance” of something but in this case it emphasizes that it he wasn’t even close to being safe
アウトになる:to be out (as far as I know, it’s used exactly in the same way as in English: sports, something you thought could be a romantic partner, maybe an idea)
